What Mentorship Is
Mentorship is a one-to-one working relationship focused on practice, attention, and development over time. It is dialogic rather than instructional, and shaped by what emerges through engagement.
This is not a course. There is no set curriculum, group structure, or fixed sequence. The work unfolds through conversation, reading, and writing, held within a steady relational frame.

How Mentorship Works
Mentorship unfolds through regular one-to-one sessions held over an agreed period. Sessions combine conversation, close attention to writing, and reflective guidance shaped by what is present.
Feedback is offered through dialogue and careful noticing rather than critique or instruction. The relationship is collaborative, steady, and responsive, with space for work to develop at its own pace.

Core Outcomes
Mentorship works through steady engagement. The outcomes are not fixed in advance, but participants often notice meaningful changes in clarity, confidence, and direction.

A steady relationship to your work
Mentorship supports continuity over time, helping writing or creative work remain something you stay in conversation with.

Clearer discernment and direction
Through dialogue and reflection, participants often gain greater clarity about what matters in their work and what does not.

Greater trust in your own judgement
Ongoing support reduces reliance on external validation, allowing decisions about creative direction to be made with more confidence

Support through complexity
Mentorship offers a consistent point of contact during periods of uncertainty, change, or development, helping work evolve.
Mentorship supports a more grounded, self directed way of working, where creative decisions are made with greater clarity, continuity, and trust. Over time, this allows work to develop steadily through complexity and change without being rushed, abandoned, or shaped by external pressure.
Mentorship is for you if...
You want to work slowly and in depth rather than quickly or performatively
You are interested in reflection, attention, and continuity over time
You value guidance and structure without being told what their work should mean
You want to develop trust in their own voice rather than seek validation or instruction
Mentorship is not for you if...
You are looking for quick results, productivity systems, or motivational coaching
You want technical instruction, literary critique, or feedback aimed at publication
You need clear outcomes, answers, or transformations within a short timeframe
You are primarily seeking therapeutic support rather than a writing practice

Commitment and Participation
Commitment and participation mean showing up consistently over time, engaging with the work at your own pace, and staying in relationship with the writing even when energy, confidence, or clarity fluctuate.
My Role as A Mentor
The host holds the structure of the session and guides its flow, ensuring the space remains clear, contained, and respectful.
Guidance is offered through clear framing and gentle direction rather than instruction or interpretation. The host does not analyse participants’ writing or direct it toward particular meanings.
Boundaries are maintained throughout. Feedback, where offered, takes the form of reflective noticing rather than critique. Participation is always by choice, and the host ensures that confidentiality, care, and respectful engagement are upheld.
