What This Workshop Is
This workshop offers a welcoming space to explore the thresholds experienced by children growing up within boarding school systems.
Through shared texts, gentle creative writing and conversation, we will consider moving between different worlds, adapting to expectations and developing boundaries to protect our sense of self. Together, we will explore how these experiences may continue to shape our sense of belonging, identity and possibility.

This one-day workshop invites us to become curious about boarding school, explore systems, expectations and adaptations through shared texts and conversation. Creative writing offers space for unfolding new meanings, discovering more resonant narratives and imagining possibilities beyond those shaped by the past.

How This Group Works
A welcoming space for exploration
A gently guided, one-day online workshop exploring the thresholds of boarding school life.
Shared texts and conversation
Carefully chosen texts offer starting points, bringing curiosity to the stories we have carried.
Unfolding through creative writing
Gentle writing invitations offer opportunities to explore new meanings, consider boundaries and begin unfolding narratives that resonate with our own understanding and experience.
Choice and participation
There is no expectation to share your writing or disclose anything personal. You are welcome to contribute, listen or write privately, at your own pace.
Reflection and continuing possibilities
This is a creative and reflective workshop, not therapy. The writing begun during the day may continue to unfold afterwards, opening up fresh perspectives, further questions and possibilities for making meaning over time.
Core Outcomes
Participants often leave the course with a steadier sense of orientation and a clearer way of relating to uncertainty through writing.

Understanding systems
Recognising the expectations and structures that shaped experiences.

Finding Voice
Growing confidence in expressing perspectives, experiences and understanding.

Practical writing practices to return to
Simple, repeatable writing invitations provide ongoing support beyond the course itself.

Unfolding New Meanings
Discovering narratives that resonate with lived experience.
This session fosters curiosity, reflection and fresh perspectives, offering space to reconsider familiar stories, discover new meanings and continue unfolding possibilities through writing beyond the workshop.
This course is for you if:
This group is for people who want a gentle, reflective writing space to help them make sense of experience during periods of uncertainty, change, or transition, without pressure to perform or produce.
This course is not for you if:
It is not for those seeking therapy, crisis support, intensive emotional processing, or directive teaching, nor for anyone looking for quick solutions, technical writing instruction, or outcomes focused on publication.
My Role as Host
My role is to hold a calm, attentive space in which reflective writing can take place without pressure or direction. I set the structure and tone of each session, offer carefully chosen readings and writing invitations, and maintain clear boundaries around care, choice, and confidentiality.
I support the group through presence, pacing, and facilitation, allowing each person to explore experience in their own way within a shared container.
I stay alongside the process as it unfolds, without steering it toward particular insights or outcomes.
