This one-day workshop offers a welcoming space to explore thresholds and boundaries within boarding school and other institutional childhood experiences. Through shared texts, reflective conversation and creative writing, we will consider moments of arrival, departure and transition, the boundaries we encountered and those we create for ourselves. The workshop invites participants to reflect on how these experiences may continue to shape identity, belonging and relationships. You may leave with fresh perspectives, greater confidence in your own voice and writing that opens possibilities for change. The emphasis is on curiosity, choice and discovering new meanings, rather than finding answers or resolutions.

The course is a one-day workshop, held online Sunday 22 nd November. Participants are encouraged to attend for the full day 10.30-4.30 to support continuity. There is no required writing or preparation between sessions. The group is limited to 10 participants to maintain a contained, supportive atmosphere.

Enrolment is confirmed via a short form requesting your name, email address, confirmation of availability, any access or support needs, and space to share anything you feel may be helpful to know before the course begins. The fee is £85, payable in advance. Once payment is received, your place is held.After enrolling, you will receive a warm welcome email confirming your place, session date and times, and what happens next. Closer to the start date, you will receive an orientation email outlining how sessions run, confidentiality, participation expectations, and what you may wish to bring. This is not a therapy group and does not replace personal or professional support. Writing is used as a reflective and creative practice, held within clear ethical boundaries. Writing is always optional, and sharing is never required. Participants choose what they write, what they keep private, and what, if anything, they share. The facilitator does not analyse or interpret participants’ writing. The space is held with attention to confidentiality, care, and choice throughout.
